Coveted, larger antique wedding glass/chalice, engraved with the text “SOUVENIR” – in memory of, as well as other charming decorations.
From France circa 1880-1900, originally a wedding glass – but now stunning as a vase for a lovely bouquet of flowers or simply as decoration.
Such pieces were often made for special occasions such as parties, weddings and exhibitions etc. The large goblets, like this one, were given to the bride and groom and used for their wedding dinner, for a communal toast and the bride and groom often kept the glass as a memento of the big day.
The vase is a little uneven at the bottom.
