Earthenware Jug Jar
Large and charming antique French storage jar/jug, formed in warm in red-brown glaze (brown Siena-coloured) and with lovely patina. The jar originates from the South of France, where it was used in the kitchen for lard, preserving/pickling vegetables and other cooking methods. This particular jar has a handle and pouring spout on the side – easier to get the boiling liquid out gradually – can alternatively be used as a watering can for houseplants.
