Church Candelabra
Wonderful antique candlestick / candelabra, beautifully decorated with, charming brass and white opaline glass lilies.
This religious candelabra dates back to circa 1900, originates from the Catholic Church in France.
Also called thanksgiving candlesticks because they were often gifted from wealthy patrons and parishioners, as thanks for a cure or a good harvest. They are still found in Catholic churches to this day, often at the altar or in small niches around the church.
This beautiful piece is made of bronze and brass, with a nice ornamented foot. It has gorgeous patina and is elegantly structured, like a lush floral bouquet with branched opaline flowers, vine leaves, ears of corn and lilies. It has 5 candle pipes for traditional candles.
Perfect for the mantelpiece or on the windowsill.
Kindly note that as it is an altar stand, it looks most beautiful from the front and is flat at the back.
