Balloon Figure
Fantastic and sculptural old casting molds for a Tivoli balloon, from the 1950s-60s. Shaped as a head with a big nose. This porcelain figure is one of many that have stood in a long row, which was powdered with talcum powder, dipped in liquid hot latex / rubber and after drying could be rolled off the mold and used for large colourful helium balloons, of the type from circuses, marketplaces and the like.
The porcelain figure is mounted on a small plinth of white painted wood.
A fun object thing that people have a hard time guessing what was originally used for.
