Coffee Table-Hans Kögl

Much sought after and imaginatively stunning late midcentury coffee / side table, possibly early 1970’s. Created by well known German designer Hans Kögl. Sophisticated and elegantly designed, with a stunning gilded base, decorated with flower petals and stems as well as with fine white opal flowers. The gilded base branches exquisitly hold on to a slim circular glass table top, the transparent lightness of which allows you to glance down to the beautifully ornamental frame.

Kögl frequently applied natural shapes such as wheat sheafs, Florentine flower heads and wisteria in his design and layout, especially in his sculptural floor and wall lighting, tables and various decorative objects. Hebecame an exponent of the coveted Hollywood Regency style. His more famous works were produced in Germany and Italy in the 1970s and 1980s, although some of the rarer items date back to the 1950s-60s.
