Boutique Display Table
Super fun and whimsical midcentury shop display/exhibition table, originally that from a former French hosiery shop. The display table was made around the 1950s and appears in openwork perforated metal with fine curved bases/details and divided into separate sections. Painted white and wonderful patina. Has been used for the exhibition and sale of stockings and socks, and other knitted textiles, such as hats and gloves.
Stylewise, related to pieces designed by Mathieu Matégot, who especially in the 1950s and 60s designed furniture with perforated metal sheets as a continuous element.
Ideal for an orangery/greenhouse, where you can keep your nice summer flowers and flowerpots standing when the plants have gone into winter hibernation.
