Vase-Cerart
Gorgeous and coveted unique old handmade and hand-coloured vase, from Manufacture de Porcelaine de Monaco / Cerart. Wonderful elegant ornamentation of colourful and numerous flowers, often decorated with 24 carat gold. The jar is made at one of the many small pottery workshops in and around the Principality of Monaco and the Côte d’Azur.
Famous since the 1890s for the region’s potters, it was the post-war period that seriously marked the emergence of several small workshops and a growing popularity of this colourful pottery.
Most of the decorations on these works are with motifs / reliefs of flowers and vine leaves, but the marine world also inspired more rare works of art.
