Silver Plate Garnish Platter
Authentic charming rectangular silver-plate serving dish, from the beautiful town of Aix-en-Provence’s now defunct Casino Municipal D’Aix. This platter goes way back to the party heydays of the 1920’s, and was used for side dishes to the main course. French cuisine makes a big thing of a rich variety of different garnishings and dishes such as costly ingredients like asparagus, artichoke, fois gras, crab meat and truffles.
The silver plate platter is stamped, and comes from the renowned silver smith Bruno Wiskermann – a smaller, but talented producer with boutiques in Belgium and Switzerland as well. His silver dates from the end of the 19th century through to 1950.
