Drageoir-Glass Comport with Lid
Elegant antique French quality glass raised stem comport / container, with a gorgeous lid. Known as a drageoir, and originally used to showcase dragé (sweets and sugared almonds), from when chocolate was expensive and coveted, so there was prestige in showing his candy instead of the guests.
The container is elegantly raised on a base dish and has a domed lid with knob. The glass is made of hand-blown quality glass and dates from before the 1890s.
