Venetian Mirror-1920’s
This stunning Venetian mirror from 1920 is a magnificent example of the craftsmanship of the time.
The frame is made of richly ornamented mirrored glass, with hand-engraved motifs, depicting floral and foliage patterns.
The top is adorned with an oval field of birds and flowers, surrounded by curved leaves and a ribbon bow, which gives a luxurious and theatrical expression.
The edges are composed of faceted glass pieces, attached with small decorative glass rosettes, which function both as decoration and as gathering points.
The curved corners and leaf tendrils on the sides create a lightness that contrasts with the solid large size of the mirror.
The style is characteristic of Venetian design from the beginning of the 20th century, where traditional 18th-century-inspired glasswork was combined with a slightly tighter, more symmetrical shape that suited the interior of that time.
It is a piece of furniture that not only functions as a mirror, but also as a work of art and focal point in the room
