Petrol Station Stand-ORLY
This incredible gas tank station is a vintage model, probably from the mid-20th century, and stood at Orly Airport in Paris.
The distinctive blue with white horizontal stripe paintwork give it an eye-catching, clean and contemporary look.
The sign “SUPER,” is on the top, indicating that it dispensed high-octane gasoline.
The front panel shows a mechanical meter in French text, where “Prix à payer” indicates the amount in francs, “Quantité débitée” indicates the quantity dispensed in litres, and “Prix de vente du litre” indicates the price per litre.
This emphasizes its use in a period before the introduction of the euro.
The gas station clearly bears the name “ORLY” on the side, which probably referring to its location or use at Orly Airport, which was an important transportation hub in France.
At the bottom is the SATAM logo, a French manufacturer of gas station equipment.
Its patina, with peeling paint and rust, adds authenticity and makes it a nostalgic piece of industrial history that reflects both the technology of the time and the history of Orly Airport.
